Vegetarian Yoga Retreat Centre

Dear Friends of Shekinah,

As many of you will have heard by now Shekinashram has closed and the centre is now in the process of renovation, In preparation for it’s exciting reopening in the New Year as Sambogaya, A spiritual retreat space dedicated to the exploration of love, truth and beauty. Their new email is info@sambogaya.org.

It has been an honour for us and an incredible journey over the last 17 years to have run Shekinashram, which has been a spiritual home and inspiration for so many. Our centre has been a wonderful space to deepen in love, service and devotion and to open our hearts to the community of Avalon and the world.

Now it is time for a new transition in our life, and to develop and evolve our work in different ways!

We are so proud and grateful for all the incredible times we have shared with so many during our time at Shekinashram.

We offer our love and gratitude to all the residents, karma yogis, guests and community of well-wishers that have been part of this profound devotional odyssey, who have prayed, sung, served, laughed and cried with us over the years and who have filled this sacred space with love and beauty!

We closed the temple together with a wonderful kirtan and a very sweet gratitude ceremony with a lot of prayers honouring our journey and opening the way for auspicious new beginnings for us all as we enter deeper into the great mystery of life’s unfolding!

All our love….
Radhe! Radhe!

Shekinah Yoga Retreat Centre is situated on the side of Chalice Hill, and it has been a hub of activity in Glastonbury since its inception as Shekin Ashram in 2003.  It is a philanthropic project and acts as a space of sanctuary for many. It is a place of retreat and celebration both peaceful and dynamic, the ambience here is homely, relaxed, grounded and is focused on living consciously, peacefully and truthfully. This is a place to take rest, reflect and journey deeper into your spiritual practice. As a spiritual community, we hold a sacred space, created away from the world where individuals come to both cultivate and draw upon spiritual sustenance. The Retreat is now run by Kamala Priya (Clare Belmont), with the support of Elahn Keshava and Gisela Lirusso, and a great team of residents, Jaya Shree, Krishna Charan, Samudra and Davy and a devoted group of volunteers. There is a friendly, devotional atmosphere where work is treated as meditation and selfless service is used as a spiritual practice.
